Chelsea have announced the signing of Nicolas Jackson from Villarreal making him their second signing of the summer.
The release clause of the Villarreal attacker was activated by Chelsea for slightly over €35 million.
Since the beginning of the transfer window, Jackson, who scored 13 goals in 38 games for Villarreal last season, has been a target for Chelsea.
After several negotiations, the transfer fee was finally accepted, Chelsea have now officially announced Nicolas Jackson as their new player.
According to Fabrizio’s report on Twitter, “It’s official, confirmed. Nico Jackson is a new Chelsea player on an 8-year deal and on a €37m fee from Villarreal. Confirmed, completed.”
Chelsea were able to fend off interest from Southampton and Bournemouth and signed the powerful forward who shone last season for Villarreal.
