FIFA Announces Team Expansion for Women World Cup 2023

Football’s world
governing body FIFA has approved the expansion of the Women’s World Cup, WWC.

The FIFA Women
World cup has been expanded from the existing 24 teams to 32 for the 2023
edition.

The bidding
process for potential hosts has already been reopened.
Media report reveled that FIFA president, Gianni Infantino, had
earlier proposed a five-point agenda to grow women’s football.
FIFA president had promised that the growth will start with
expanding the Women’s World Cup from 24 to 32 teams.
The Announcement
was released on FIFA official website on Wednesday, FIFA said, “The FIFA
Council has unanimously agreed to a proposal to expand the number of teams
taking part in the women’s World Cup from 24 to 32.
“This is with
effect as of the next edition of the tournament in 2023.”
