Nigeria’s Super Eagles have improved in their FIFA ranking, moving up four places to 31st in the latest FIFA world rankings released on Thursday.
The Nigeria super eagles who finished as third best team at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt, however maintained their third spot in the continent, behind Senegal and Tunisia.
The three-time African champions were ranked 35th in the last month FIFA ranking, but earned more points this month after defeating their neigbhours “Squirrels of Benin Republic 2-1 in Uyo and Crocodiles of Lesotho 4-2 in Maseru.
In the other rankings, Reigning African champions Algeria are ranked fourth in the continent, while the top 10 in Africa includes Morocco, Ghana, Egypt, Cameroon, Mali and Democratic Republic of Congo.
Overall, Belgium remains top number one team, while world champions France and Brazil retain their second and third positions respectively. England and Uruguay are the other teams in the top five.
The next FIFA World Rankings will be released next month on December 19.
