The Belgian striker wants to end his disastrous Chelsea career and is said to be willing over taking a pay cut, to move permanently to Inter Milan.
The 30-year-old Belgian striker hasn’t had the best of a career since rejoining Chelsea in a then club-record £97m transfer fee back in 2021.
And now reports in Italy are saying that Lukaku is prepared to cut his salary to remain at Inter Milan permanently.
The Belgium international has been the subject of several transfer offers from Saudi Pro League sides this summer, but it appears the striker is unwilling to leave European football at the moment.
Romelu Lukaku is said to fancy staying at Inter Milan and has reportedly assured the club that despite offers from AC Milan, he’s staying put.
And according to journalist Matt Law of The Telegraph, Lukaku is willing to accept a pay cut of a whopping £1m of his salary to join Inter Milan back in a permanent deal.
The report also states that Chelsea and Inter will meet again this week, to discuss a new bid and fast-track his transfer.
Inter Milan are reported to be preparing a new bid for Romelu Lukaku in the region of £35m to get the deal done. Chelsea had earlier rejected a bid of £25m and the Italian side believe they can get the transfer done with an improved offer now.
