Seria A match Between Brescia vs Sassuolo Officially postponed

Media reports revealed that Friday’s Serie A game between Brescia and Sassuolo is postponed to December 18 as a mark of respect for Giorgio Squinzi.

Giorgio Squinzi is Sassuolo patron, who passed away on Wednesday evening after a long illness, aged 76.

Also, Lega Serie A has officially mandated a minute’s silence before all games kick off this weekend. 

The planned kick-off game time was Friday at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT). In A statement from the Lega this evening confirmed the fixture has been rescheduled for December 18 at 19.45 UK time.

The late patron had been in charge of Sassuolo since 2002, taking them from the low Serie C2 to the top flight and even Europa League football. He was also a leading figure in the Italian business world.

His burial arrangement is set for Monday afternoon in Milan’s Duomo cathedral.
